Job summary

Norwood is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team, supporting adults with complex needs in a residential setting. You will deliver person-centred care and build trusting relationships, helping residents live with dignity, choice and independence.

Your day-to-day includes supporting personal routines, encouraging independence through life skills, enabling hobbies and activities, accompanying health appointments, and contributing to a welcoming home environment.

Responsibilities

• Support people with personal routines including personal care and meal preparation.
• Encourage independence through life skills like budgeting, shopping and social outings.
• Help people enjoy hobbies and interests: swimming, music, arts and outdoor activities.
• Accompany residents to health appointments and trips out.
• Work closely with our Physical Activity Practitioner, including in the hydrotherapy pool.
• Contribute to household tasks and maintain a welcoming home environment.
• Use a range of communication methods (Makaton, objects of reference, expressions).
• Drive the home vehicle for activities and appointments.
