Job summary

Labcorp in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Specimen Processing Team Lead to supervise day-to-day operations and lead the team in daily processes. You'll assist with preparation of laboratory specimens and oversee routing to prep areas, promoting process improvements and quality checks.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 3+ years in lab or production, with strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 3 years or more experience in lab, accessioning, data entry or production.
• Associate’s degree preferred.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 10am – 7pm, overtime as business needs demand.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision of the day‑to‑day operations of the department.
• Lead the team in daily processes and procedures.
• Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas.
• Encourage process improvements and best practices.
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree.
• 2 years or more experience working in a clinical laboratory.
• 2 years or more experience as a people leader.

Additional Standards

• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
