Job description

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this Sr. Director position is responsible for overseeing Medical Center operational activities in small- and/or medium-sized service areas, including facilities with less than 300 licensed beds or small-to-mid-sized square footage. This includes managing environmental, plant operations, nutritional, security, and support services to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and quality ancillary services that enhance member satisfaction, growth, and retention.

The role involves partnering with Medical Center and Medical Group leadership for strategic planning, establishing organizational structures for service continuity, and working with regulatory and finance teams to safeguard assets. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with enterprise shared services on building-lease, construction, and expansion projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Talent Development: Build organizational capacity, develop high potentials, foster collaboration, and oversee recruitment and performance management to maintain a skilled, engaged workforce.
  2. Operational Oversight: Manage multiple units by translating business strategies into operational plans, ensuring service quality, supporting strategic initiatives, and resolving escalated issues.
  3. Facilities Maintenance: Drive resolutions for building systems issues, oversee preventative maintenance, and ensure a safe, clean environment.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Title 22, CMS, CDPH, TJC, and manage waste and information disposal in compliance with regulations.
  5. Grounds and Safety: Develop long-term landscaping plans, oversee safety inspections, drills, and emergency preparedness.
  6. Facility Improvements and Budgeting: Plan and prioritize renovation and maintenance projects, track progress, and manage budgets for operational efficiency.
  7. Technical Support: Provide strategic guidance on infrastructure, HVAC, and technology installations, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  8. Vendor and Contract Management: Oversee vendor performance, develop service agreements, and ensure contractual compliance and quality standards.
