Job summary

Lynker, an employee-owned professional services firm, seeks a data assimilation engineer to support the National Weather Service in moving JEDI-based systems into operations and to contribute to the Unified Forecast System.

The role focuses on developing, evaluating, and testing JEDI components, transitioning observation modeling and QC, and integrating with atmospheric model interfaces. Prior experience with variational/ensemble methods and HPC is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of variational and ensemble data assimilation techniques.
• Proficiency in FORTRAN, Python, or C++.
• Experience with HPC environments and scripting languages.
