Job summary

Persistent Systems Limited is seeking a Senior Middleware Engineer in New Jersey to administer RHEL environments, configure Tomcat, and implement robust middleware solutions. The role emphasizes security hardening with SSL/TLS and high availability/disaster recovery to ensure business continuity.

You will manage LDAP/SSO configurations, collaborate across teams, monitor systems, and document best practices. The ideal candidate has 8–12 years of middleware experience and a strong security mindset.

Qualifications

About Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Middleware Engineer with extensive experience in RHEL Administration, Apache Tomcat, and Middleware Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security hardening, SSL/TLS, and high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our middleware platforms.

What You'll Do

• Administer and maintain RHEL environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Configure and manage Apache Tomcat servers, including deployment and troubleshooting of applications.
• Implement and manage middleware solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance standards.
• Conduct security hardening of systems, including the implementation of SSL/TLS protocols.
• Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
• Manage LDAP/SSO configurations to streamline user authentication and access control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate middleware solutions with existing systems.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices for middleware operations.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong knowledge of RHEL Administration.
• Experience with Apache Tomcat configuration and management.
• Proficient in Middleware Engineering principles and practices.
• Expertise in SSL/TLS implementation and security hardening techniques.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions.
• Knowledge of LDAP/SSO for user authentication.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment.
• Experience with Control-M for job scheduling and monitoring.
• Knowledge of SAN Storage solutions.
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible.
• Familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Experience with Spring Boot for application development.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Splunk, ELK, or Prometheus.
