Job summary

GE Aerospace in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Program Manager for Support Equipment (SE) to drive next-generation military programs and manage SE engineering, tooling, and schedules. You will collaborate with Edison Works teams and aircraft integrators to ensure successful development, fielding, and sustainment of propulsion systems.

Ideal candidates have turbine engine maintenance experience, project management skills, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a High School Diploma/GED with minimum of 4 years experience with aircraft turbine engine maintenance) and at least 3 years of specific turbine engine maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with turbine engine systems.
  • Experience performing project or program management functions.
  • Must have or qualify for a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.

  • Coordinates with SE engineers on requirements definition, design and engineering of SE and specialized tooling.
  • Tracks and coordinates SE to support development engine assembly and production activities.
  • Lead SE try-out activities with development assembly engineers to verify form, fit and function.
  • Interprets customer requirements and leads qualification and delivery of SE and specialized tooling.
  • Analyzes existing Common Support Equipment (CSE) for possible reuse or identifies need for Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE).
  • Supports drafting of SE Program Plans and SE requirements documents.

Job Description Summary The Support Equipment (SE) Program Manager will support GE Aerospace's Edison Works next-generation military programs. In this role, you will support propulsion system support equipment engineering and specialized tooling projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage schedules and contract deliverables, while coordinating with Edison Works Integrated Product Support Team and our aircraft integrators. This is a critical role responsible for the successful development, fielding and long-term sustainment of future propulsion systems.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with Support Equipment (SE) engineers on the requirements definition, design and engineering of SE and specialized tooling
  • Tracks, manages and coordinates SE to support development engine assembly and production activities
  • Lead SE try-out activities with the development assembly engineers to verify form, fit and function
  • Interprets customer requirements and leads the qualification and delivery of SE and specialized tooling
  • Analyzes existing Common Support Equipment (CSE) to determine if it can be re-used for propulsion systems sustainment, and identifies when new Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE) is required
  • Supports the authoring of technical documents such as SE Program Plans and SE requirements documents
  • Supports the development and management of complex Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and budgets that align to DoD Earned Value Management (EVM) requirements
  • Supports monthly program status report development to summarize work scope accomplished, financial expenditures and schedule critical paths
  • Manages contractual deliverables including tracking, reviewing, preparing and reporting status to internal and external stakeholders
  • Supports internal reoccurring meetings, which provide management and leadership updates on SE status
  • Identifies recommendations, risks and provides status to the Edison Works Maintenance Support Manager on related scope and deliverables
  • Collaborates cross functionally within Edison Works and Defense and Systems engineering disciplines such as maintainability, reliability, supportability, safety engineering and Technical Publications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university ( or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years experience with aircraft turbine engine maintenance ) + minimum of 3 years of specific experience with aircraft turbine engine maintenance
  • Familiarity with turbine engine systems
  • Experience performing project or program management functions
  • Must have or qualify for a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • Ability to work full time on-site at GE Aerospace headquarters in Cincinnati, OH; due to security requirements there are limited work from home or remote opportunities
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics

  • Engineering degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience performing maintenance on propulsion systems such as F110, F118, F414, F100, F119, F135 etc.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Product Support processes for military engine systems
  • Prior military experience as a maintenance officer or enlisted aircraft maintenance technician, with a focus on tactical aircraft maintenance and aerospace propulsion highly desired
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
  • Active U.S. Government Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
