Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service is seeking a Support CDL Driver in Minnesota to cover open routes and support daily deliveries. You will follow safety and service standards while handling freight, loading trucks, and assisting drivers on morning duties.

The role offers a starting wage of $24.00–$28.00 per hour with time-and-a-half OT after 40 hours, variable shifts, 10–15 hours overtime weekly, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for CDL Class-A drivers. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old and able to pass a DOT physical.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CDL Class A license or complete Company-paid CDL training program.

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs.
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight and loading trucks.
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers.
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle.
• Maintain professional appearance and cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Travel may be required.
• Perform other required duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Support CDL Driver fills in on open or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.

Hours and Wages

• Monday- Friday, 7:00AM- completion of route
• May be expected to cover variable shifts based on business needs
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $24.00- $28.00 per hour, based on experienc e

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks and other duties as needed
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Collect payments as needed
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Travel may be required
• Perform other required duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsementMust possess good customer service and organizational skills

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
