Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking CDL Class A drivers to fill in on open routes and support daily delivery operations across the Rochester area.

The role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards. We offer a $10,000 sign-on bonus, a starting wage of $24.00–$28.00 per hour, overtime at time-and-a-half after 40 hours, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, life insurance, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old and able to pass pre-employment screening.
• Valid CDL Class A license or completion of company CDL training.
• Ability to operate manual transmission and obtain required endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant, or unassigned routes to support daily operations.
• Assist drivers with loading, sorting freight, and daily duties.
• Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers on time.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and report problems.
• Maintain professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness.
• Travel may be required and overtime may be scheduled.

Job Summary

The Support CDL Driver fills in on open or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.

Hours and Wages

• Monday- Friday, 7:00AM- completion of route
• May be expected to cover variable shifts based on business needs
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $24.00- $28.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties And Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks and other duties as needed
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Collect payments as needed
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Travel may be required
• Perform other required duties as assigned

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills

Education And Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
