Job summary

Southeast Missouri Residential Services, a State of Missouri facility in Poplar Bluff, seeks a Support Care Assistant to provide one-on-one care for consumers with developmental disabilities. Shifts include 7:00 am–7:00 pm and 7:00 pm–7:00 am with overtime as needed.

Applicants should be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, and may require a Level One Medication Aide certification. The role involves hands-on direct care, observation, treatment, and monitoring, plus assistance with daily

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass Level One Medication Aide certification within one month of assignment.
• Must pass a background screening.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on, direct care to clients including observations, treatment, and monitoring.
• Direct care staff are responsible for providing services to clients and ensuring safety and security and implementing habilitation/treatment activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living, meal planning, medication assistance, transportation, finger stick, glucose monitoring, and household tasks.
• Participate in planned sessions of individual or group therapy, education, vocational rehabilitation, and related areas.
• Develop and/or implement habilitation or treatment plans.
• Observe, report, and record changes in the client’s condition, behavior, and emotional status.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for client care and treatment activities.
• Pass medications as Medication Aide after certification.
• Other duties as assigned.
