Job summary

Bering Straits Native Corporation in Lexington, KY is seeking a Supply Technician - Purchasing to support procurement activities for government contracts. The role requires strong purchasing and inventory control skills, and familiarity with FAR/DFARS.

About this position: Supply Technician - Purchasing Location – Lexington, KY

Wage/Salary Range: $28.64 / per hour

Applicants will be notified via phone or email within ten (10) business days of submittal.

• Purchase equipment and maintenance requested by National Guard Bureau and supported entities
• Commercial off the Shelf procurements
• Follow all FARS/DFARS regulations
• Create purchase order package and obtain appropriate authorizations
• Complete training as required by FAR/DFARs
• Revise purchase orders as needed
• Assist DSO/MMO with purchase requests
• Excellent customer service skills including verbal communication, interpersonal and planning/organizational skills (Communicate with vendors and manufacturers)
• Basic analytical and creative problem‑solving skills to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data, to establish the facts, and to take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Maintain complete files for record keeping and AQ review
• Review of potential vendors registered with System for Award Management (SAM)
• Familiarity of Maximo
• Working with Finance/Accounting department for invoice related issues
• Transportation support backup Supply Technician
• Other duties as assigned

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

• Education Requirements: High school diploma required
• Level of Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year experience in supply chain, purchasing, or inventory control
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol test and background check

Physical Setting: Indoor/Office

Schedule and Flexibility: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, off weekends and all federal holidays

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
