United States Space Force is seeking a supply operations support specialist to handle specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts requiring protection in shipment and storage.
The role requires knowledge of governing supply regulations and data entry in automated systems, plus ability to prepare clear written correspondence and reports, and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. This is a federal position with standard qualifications.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide supply operations support pertaining to specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts requiring unusual degrees of protection in shipment and storage, or other items that are unique to the organization's mission or are seldom handled.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialize experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for Supply Clerical and Technician Series, 2005. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions; and supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system; correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports; and various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. OR EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience as described above may be used to qualify for this position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions; and supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system; correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports; and various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. Skill in typing, a qualified typist is required. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve complex supply problems; and to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements. Ability to receive, screen, review, and verify supply documents and resolve discrepancies. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
