Job summary

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for the Supply Specialist III position within the Commandant's Office. The candidate will supervise cadet unit supply personnel in maintaining accountability and serviceability of unit weapons.

He/she will also manage departmental supply services and serve as the lead worker in purchase operations and property control for the Commandants Department.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least a high school diploma and work experience directly related to supply & logistics.
  • Knowledge of military weapons.
  • Knowledge of supply and inventory control practices and procedures, including accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Ability to plan, train, and oversee the work of others.
  • Must be able to communicate well orally and in writing and perform duties with a minimum of supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise cadet unit supply personnel in maintaining accountability and serviceability of unit weapons.
  • Manage departmental supply services and lead purchase operations and property control for the Commandants Department.
  • Ensure physical accountability for 2000 rifles; manage storage and maintenance coordination for the rifles.
  • Serve as the on-call supervisor during non-duty hours for Arms Room alarms or rifle count discrepancies.
  • Oversee serviceability for 2000 rifles and coordinate organizational maintenance (replacing damaged parts, oiling per manuals).
  • Develop and implement accountability protocol for barracks furnishings and equipment.
  • Investigate property losses and inventory discrepancies; report findings and recommendations.

Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for the Supply Specialist III position within the Commandant's Office. The candidate will supervise cadet unit supply personnel in maintaining accountability and serviceability of unit weapons. He/she will also manage departmental supply services and serve as the lead worker in purchase operations and property control for the Commandants Department. Other responsibilities include: Ensure physical accountability for 2000 rifles; direct the collection, distribution, control, storage and maintenance of the rifles in accordance with Army Regulation; serve as the "on-call-supervisor" during non-duty hours in the case of an Arms Room alarm or if there is a discrepancy on evening Rifle Counts; oversee serviceability for 2000 rifles and coordinate organizational maintenance on the rifles, such as replacing broken stocks, plates, sights, and hand guards; ensure that the rifles have been oiled properly in accordance with the applicable manuals; develop, maintain and implement accountability protocol for barracks furnishings and equipment; investigate property losses and other inventory discrepancies; report results and recommendations; among other duties.
