Job Overview:

The Supply Planning Manager at Nonni's Bakery will develop and implement effective supply planning strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective availability of materials and finished goods across our bakery product lines. This role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration ability, and experience in managing supply chain processes within the food industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Planning & Forecasting:

• Lead the supply planning process to ensure optimal inventory levels that meet customer demands while minimizing excess stock
• Develop and maintain accurate bakery product demand forecasts, aligning with sales, production scheduling, and inventory plans
• Monitor supply chain KPIs and identify improvement opportunities for Nonni's production and distribution network

Inventory Management:

• Oversee inventory control of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to maintain optimal stock levels
• Work closely with bakery operations and warehouse teams to improve inventory accuracy and reduce waste
• Implement strategies to balance seasonal fluctuations in demand for Nonni's specialty baked goods
• Build strong relationships with key suppliers of bakery ingredients and packaging materials
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and address quality or delivery issues promptly
• Collaborate with procurement on ingredient availability forecasting and contingency planning

Process Optimization:

• Identify and implement supply chain efficiency improvements to enhance Nonni's production planning
• Standardize supply planning processes across multiple bakery facilities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve service levels
• Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions of critical bakery ingredients and materials
• Monitor market conditions that may impact ingredient availability or pricing
• Implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure consistent production capability

Order Management & Cross-functional Communication:

• Track purchase orders from initiation to delivery, resolving discrepancies promptly
• Coordinate with production, sales, and marketing teams during new product launches and promotions
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on inventory levels, production schedules, and supply challenges
• Participate in S&OP meetings to align supply planning with business objectives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain management with at least 3 years in food/bakery industry
• Strong knowledge of inventory management and demand forecasting principles
• Experience with ERP systems and supply chain planning software
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication abilities with a collaborative approach

Preferred Qualifications:

• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Experience working with bakery products or shelf-stable food items
• Proficiency in advanced Excel modeling and data visualization tools
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position based at Nonni's Chicago headquarters
• Occasional travel to production facilities and supplier locations (approximately 10-15%)
• Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and strong multi-tasking abilities
