Job summary

Simplot in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Supply Planner to align manufacturing, inventory and supplier plans with finished goods requirements, ensuring on-time supply while controlling costs.

You will partner across functions, drive IBP/S&OP processes, manage WIP and material availability, and support new product introductions through the planning lifecycle. This role is on-site at Simplot HQ in Boise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations, agriculture, logistics, or related field.
• Experience with Advanced Planning Systems (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Oracle) preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Understanding of master planning, inventory optimization, logistics, and deployment planning.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial decision-making skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
• Experience in agriculture, crop planning, fertilizer procurement, or seasonal supply chain environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain partnerships across supply chain including Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics and Commercial teams.
• Maintain key supply planning processes at best-practice standards.
• Understand manufacturing operations, production capabilities, material availability, labor needs, and seasonal supply considerations.
• Oversee crop and finished goods sanctioning to align with business needs.
• Monitor WIP and inventories to support seasonal demand and escalate risks.
• Manage alternate/dual-source supply strategies to mitigate risk.
• Lead planning for new product introductions, changes, and discontinuations via NPI.
• Provide inputs for IBP and S&OP reviews.
• Facilitate monthly Demand and Supply Review meetings and secure supply commitments.
• Procure fertilizer, micronutrients, and other materials as needed.
• Analyze supply chain performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve planning accuracy and efficiency.

Summary

The Supply Planner is responsible for leading supply planning activities to ensure customer demand is met while maintaining inventory targets and optimizing supply chain efficiency. This role aligns manufacturing, inventory, raw material, and supplier plans with finished goods requirements to support business objectives. The Supply Planner drives continuous improvement in planning processes, supports integrated business planning (IBP) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and ensures consistent execution of both insourced and outsourced supply planning activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong partnerships across the extended supply chain, including Manufacturing, Procurement, Agriculture Services, Logistics, and Commercial teams.

• Ensure key supply planning processes are maintained and executed at a best-practice standard.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations, production capabilities, key material availability, labor requirements, and seasonal supply considerations.

• Oversee crop and finished goods sanctioning processes to ensure alignment with business requirements.

• Monitor Work-in-Process (WIP) plans and inventory positions to support seasonal demand requirements, proactively escalating risks and exceptions.

• Manage the integration of alternate and dual-source supply strategies to mitigate risk and support changing business requirements.

• Lead supply planning activities associated with new product introductions, product changes, and product discontinuations through the NPI process.

• Prepare recommendations and provide critical supply inputs for Supply Chain IBP and S&OP review meetings.

• Facilitate monthly Demand and Supply Review meetings to ensure alignment and secure supply commitments against the business plan.

• Procure fertilizer, micronutrients, and other assigned materials as required to support operational needs.

• Analyze supply chain performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve service levels, inventory management, and planning effectiveness.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning accuracy, supply chain agility, and operational efficiency.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Agriculture, Logistics, or a related field.
