Tir na n-Og is seeking supply Nursery Nurses to cover periods of annual leave and sickness on an hourly, as-and-when-required basis. Pay is per hour and time-sheets must be authorised.

The role involves maintaining high standards of care, supporting colleagues, and following the daily routine suitable for each room, including baby rooms. DBS clearance is required, and Welsh-language ability is desirable.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 2 in children’s care or willing to work towards it.
• Experience in a childcare setting preferred.
• Awareness of health and safety and food hygiene in the workplace.
• Enhanced DBS check is required.

Description du poste

Tir na n-Og are looking to develop and grow a pool of supply staff who can be called upon to undertake the role of Supply Nursery Nurse on an as and when required basis. It is envisaged that the supply pool staff would be called upon to cover periods of annual leave, sickness absence and so forth, and payment would then be made according to the hours worked and upon submission of an authorised time-sheet.

The main responsibilities of the Supply Nursery Nurse role will include:

• To contribute to a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the day care centre.
• To give support to other personnel within the day care centre.
• To implement the daily routine appropriate to the room within which they are located in the Nursery, for example the baby room.

Candidates should be qualified to level 2 in children’s care, learning and development or be willing to work towards this qualification whilst in post. Previous experience in a childcare setting and a positive approach to their continued professional development (CPD) is essential.

Candidates will also be expected to have an awareness and some understanding of the importance of health and safety and food hygiene in the workplace.
