Hy-Vee, Inc. invites students to a Supply Chain Transportation Internship for Summer 2027. The program runs May 17 to August 13, 2027, in Chariton, IA or Ankeny, IA, with a 40-hour work week and multiple networking opportunities.

Interns will learn Hy-Vee's daily supply chain processes, complete data-driven projects, and deliver a final presentation or paper to Hy-Vee leadership.

Qualifications

Job Description

SUPPLY CHAIN TRANSPORTATION INTERNSHIP – SUMMER 2027 Hy-Vee, Inc. is a progressive company focused on retail. To support retail we must continuously review our supply chain practices to ensure we are operating as efficiently as possible while maintaining excellent customer service to our stores and ultimately our customers. We have openings for interns to assist Hy-Vee Inc. in transportation operations. The positions will be located in either Chariton, IA or Ankeny IA. The timeframe is approximately May 17th to August 13th, 2027. This Monday through Friday opportunity will be 40 hours per week. This internship is part of the Hy-Vee Supply Chain Internship program, which includes tours of Hy-Vee’s facilities, organized networking opportunities, and a final presentation to Hy-Vee leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

Successful candidates will work with management and company employees to learn daily processes within Hy-Vee’s supply chain. Responsibilities will be similar to what is expected of an entry-level supply chain professional. Complete project work involving reviewing large sets of data and proposal of any changes needed to improve operations. The position will include learning daily processes needed to successfully service customers with the expectation of contributing new ideas in the form of a final presentation or paper at the conclusion of the internship.

The Successful Candidate will have:

• Strong academic candidate
• Experience with team leadership and teamwork, especially outside the classroom
• Skilled in the following applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and written
• Experience with problem solving and organization
• Ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment
• Relationship-building skills

Minimum Education/Experience Required to Perform Job

Qualifications include working toward, or recently acquired, a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Economics, Industrial Engineering, Transportation, etc.
