Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Team Lead to assist the Section Manager and oversee day-to-day operations in a Caterpillar warehouse environment. You will coordinate with logistics and carriers, and drive continuous improvements across multiple job classifications.

You will also lead cross-functional meetings, track performance, and ensure safety, quality, and cost goals are met while supporting material handling and heavy equipment tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of supply chain operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Good attendance record and ability to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with logistics and external carriers to set up expedited shipments.
• Interface with customer and coordinate voice of customer to logistics team to improve processes.
• Lead meetings with multifunctional team to track performance and drive results.
• Oversee management of zones through targeting aged inventory and root-cause investigations.
• Lead problem-solving events to drive continuous improvement.
• Track quality metrics and meet safety, quality, velocity and cost goals.
• Lead investigations on customer reported defects, including internal logistics customers.
• Occasionally operate heavy equipment and perform material handling as required.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and willing to work OT when required.
• Lead team meetings and enforce safety policies; manage training matrix.
