Position – Global Subcontract Manager 2

Location: Melbourne, FL – onsite. Schedule: 9/80 with every other Friday off.

Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (AS) seeks a Global Subcontract Manager 2 to lead complex subcontracts for U.S. Government and commercial defense programs, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, awarding, executing, administering, and closing subcontracts.
• Managing schedule, cost, technical and quality performance of suppliers.
• Coordinating with legal, contracts, finance, planning, operations, program management, engineering, and quality stakeholders.
• Providing guidance to junior Subcontract Specialists and Integrated Product Team Leads.
• Acting as interface with supplier leadership to drive contractual excellence.
• Leading evaluation of customer RFPs and developing subcontract RFPs, SOWs, technical specs, deliverables, schedules, compliance matrices, and pricing templates.
• Mentoring and evaluating subcontract packages.
• Performing in a fast‑paced, high‑expectations environment with minimal oversight.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience in subcontracts or contracts, OR Master’s Degree and 3 years of experience in subcontracts or contracts, OR High School Diploma/Equivalent and 9 years of experience in subcontracts or contracts.
• Aerospace & Defense experience.
• Subcontracts experience presenting to all internal/external management levels.
• Ability to transfer and maintain a final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD Must be in‑scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) within a reasonable period.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of SAP or related business application software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience with complex competitive subcontracts, multiple contracting formats (Firm Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursable).
• Knowledge of special payment provisions and performance‑based payments.
• Experience leading/mentoring SCAs throughout the subcontract lifecycle.

Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600 - $189,800. May include overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Benefits include health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and personal business.
