Job summary

EdgeStone Staffing in Dracut, MA is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to support purchasing, materials planning, production scheduling, and vendor coordination for a manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing buying and planning and strong organizational and communication skills for a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes cycle counts, PO processing, vendor communications, and production planning using Visual ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing buying and planning required.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing, materials planning, production scheduling, and vendor management.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems; Visual experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily cycle count activities with the Materials team.
  • Monitor material availability and identify potential shortages that could impact production.
  • Process and action purchase order acknowledgments.
  • Communicate and coordinate with vendors regarding orders, delivery dates, and requirements.
  • Process order confirmations for the Purchasing team.
  • Send weekly open-order reports to vendors and obtain confirmation that upcoming delivery dates will be met.
  • Work closely with Receiving to identify and resolve issues with problem orders.
  • Expedite parts shortages and past-due parts and initiate corrective actions to prevent recurring shortages.
  • Maintain an accurate expedite log.
  • Utilize a strong understanding of contract manufacturing processes and dynamics to support effective vendor collaboration, sourcing, and negotiations.
  • Plan work orders for release to the shop floor using Visual ERP/MRP systems and customer forecasts.
  • Review Visual reports and adjust production schedules based on labor constraints and available capacity.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales, Engineering, and Production to ensure projects remain aligned with agreed-upon production schedules.
  • Review customer forecasts to plan materials and production capacity accordingly.
  • Run material shortage reports as needed.
  • Process customer expedite requests and maintain appropriate logs.
  • Work with Purchasing and Production to determine the best achievable delivery dates based on material availability, parts, labor, and production capacity.

** Job Type:** Full-Time
** Pay Status:** Exempt

About the Position

EdgeStone Staffing is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Specialist to support purchasing, materials planning, production scheduling, and vendor coordination for a manufacturing operation in Dracut, MA.

Key Responsibilities

Materials & Inventory

  • Coordinate daily cycle count activities with the Materials team.
  • Monitor material availability and identify potential shortages that could impact production.

Purchasing & Vendor Management

Physical Requirements

While performing the essential duties of the position, the employee will regularly be required to:
