Job description

The Oberalp Group is a management driven family business - a house of brands that creates high quality technical mountaineering products. We have 6 own brands Salewa, Dynafit, Pomoca, Wild Country, Evolv and LaMunt. As an exclusive partner of other brands in the sports sector we offer our entire know how in communication, sales and image building.

We are a team of more than 1000 employees in 11 countries worldwide – a group of adventurers and dreamers, mountaineers, looking for their next peak.

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the execution of inbound and outbound logistics, customs, and inventory management for Oberalp North America. This is a key role on the Operations team, supporting the flow of international goods from our global manufacturing facilities and distribution centers to our United States warehouse. As the primary point of contact for inbound shipment coordination, this role actively tracks transit schedules, books freight and resolves potential logistics delays. Key to this function is transforming supply chain and shipping data into records within our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to ensure

accurate purchase orders, receiving, and product availability.

This role works closely with the Supply Chain and Operations Manager to oversee customs administration and trade compliance for all imports and exports. This includes verifying entry documentation, managing Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) tariff classifications, monitoring the US Customs Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal reporting, and staying informed on the evolving tariff landscape to evaluate impacts on landed costs. This role will also assist with other operational, supply chain, and customs projects as they arise.

The role is ideal for an organized, analytical professional who is eager to build a career in global logistics with passion for an outdoor-focused company.

Tasks & responsibilities
International Logistics
  • Shipment Lifecycle Management: Proactively track and manage inbound international shipments, quote and book inbound freight, ensure key stakeholders (freight forwarders, brokers, and internal teams) are aligned for on-time delivery.
  • Exception & Delay Mitigation: Identity potential transit delays and work with shipping partners to minimize delivery delays and fees.
  • Document Retention: Maintain organized digital records of all shipping and transport documentation.
Customs Compliance
  • Customs Coordination: Review and verify import documentation - Importer Security Filing (ISF) filings, 7501 entry summaries, and commercial invoices - to ensure accuracy, timely clearance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Trade Compliance: Support compliance activities by monitoring and pulling reports from ACE portal, gather documentation for Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Partner Government Agencies (PGAs), and assist with any audits or customs ruling submissions.
  • Tariff & HTS Classification: Maintain HTS classifications for incoming goods while monitoring the evolving tariff landscape to understand and communicate impacts on landed costs.
ERP Data & Inventory Management
  • Inbound Receiving: Create and update receipts in the ERP system for inbound goods and work with our 3PL warehouse to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Purchase Order Administration: Execute the creation and maintenance of PO’s accurately based off the quantities provided to the size-level where necessary
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate and distribute recurring reports—including weekly inventory status, product availability, and closeout summaries—to support Sales and Operations decision-making.
  • Cost Allocation: Assist in reconciling freight and duty invoices against product costs to ensure accurate reporting.
Cross-Functional Support
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Accounting teams to resolve shipment discrepancies and invoice variances.
  • Support seasonal pricing process and order form creation.
  • Participate in ad-hoc supply chain projects focused on process improvement and data analysis.
Profile
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in Operations, Logistics, or Accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills: Ability to use Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex formulas to manipulate large datasets.
  • Experience working within an ERP environment (Microsoft Navision experience a plus).
  • Working knowledge of international trade terms, import/customs clearance process, and basic HTS classification principles.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for coordinating with international stakeholders, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
  • A genuine passion for the outdoors and mountain sports is a plus.
