We are seeking a Digital Operations Systems Engineer to partner with Operations, IT, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to drive digital transformation across our optical communications manufacturing.
Position Summary
This role combines digital operations systems engineering with SAP Production Planning leadership to improve manufacturing and supply chain performance across plant and enterprise environments. The position partners with Operations, IT, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to design, optimize, and sustain practical system solutions that simplify workflows, strengthen data visibility, improve system reliability, and support faster, smarter decision-making. By connecting shop‑floor needs with SAP PP capabilities, automation opportunities, and business intelligence tools, this role drives digital transformation, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Operations, IT, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to deliver system solutions that improve manufacturing and supply chain performance.
- Maintain deep expertise in SAP PP functionality and align system configurations, workflows, and enhancements with business and production planning requirements.
- Drive AI, automation, and chatbot initiatives that improve troubleshooting, standardize responses, and simplify user workflows on the production floor.
- Strengthen system reliability, usability, and performance by collaborating with cross‑functional technical teams across SAP and plant systems.
- Optimize SAP transactions and related processes to reduce complexity, improve user adoption, and support efficient execution.
- Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and other data visualization tools that improve visibility to performance, downtime, and operational decision‑making.
- Lead cross‑functional problem solving, root‑cause investigations, system enhancements, and upgrades to remove barriers to performance.
- Support integration across SAP PP, MM, SD, QM, FICO, MES, and related manufacturing systems to improve end‑to‑end process execution and data flow.
- Document system configurations, troubleshoot technical issues, and help govern scalable, sustainable solution design.
- Coach users and subject matter experts to strengthen system knowledge, adoption, and continuous improvement capability.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance production scheduling, resource utilization, lead times, and overall operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, systems engineering, SAP PP, or IT/OT support.
- Experience supporting SAP PP in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.
- Familiarity with AI platforms, chatbot development, automation tools, and digital workflow improvement.
- Experience with MES systems, Power BI, SAP, Python, SQL, or other scripting and reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, MRP, capacity planning, shop‑floor execution, and industrial data flow.
- Proven analytical, problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable system solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement methods such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills in fast‑paced manufacturing environments.

Salary Range – $88,723.00 – $121,995.00. Starting pay depends on job‑related factors including geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
