Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Dayton, OH, seeks a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist or Senior Specialist to support the Global Supply Chain team. You will source and procure goods from diverse suppliers, initiate RFQs/Proposals, analyze pricing, and manage POs while ensuring compliance with public law and company policies.

Preferred candidates hold a US Secret clearance (or ability to obtain one) and have experience with FAR/DFARS, SAP/S4 ERP, and cost-competitive negotiations to reduce risk and drive

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 2+ years in procurement or 0+ years with a Master’s degree.
  • Experience with government procurement and FAR/DFARS preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.

This position will support our Global Supply Chain team and will be located in Dayton, OH.Essential Functions:Sources and procures goods and services of a commodity nature from many suppliersInitiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliersIn conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedulesWorks with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products requiredIdentifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiationsIssues purchase ordersManages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulationsEmploys sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activitiesEnsures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recordedReviews and approves supplier payment as neededUtilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvementThis position may be filled as a Level 2 or Level 3 based on the qualifications outlined below.Basic Qualifications (Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist - Level 2):Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, purchasing, and/or supplier management, OR a Master's degree with 0 years experience.Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S Government Secret level clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (after starting).Basic Qualifications (Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist - Level 3):Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience, a Master's degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD and 1 year of experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, and/or supplier management.Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S Government Secret level clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (after starting).Preferred Qualifications:Active US Government Secret ClearanceAerospace industry experiencePrice analysis experienceNegotiation experienceBackground in government procurement with familiarity of FAR/DFARSExperience using SAP/S4 or similar ERP systemst.Primary Level Salary Range: $62,700.00 - $94,100.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $77,800.00 - $116,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
