Responsibilities:
Define and develop material strategy.
Assess supply resources; aggregate and prioritize demand requirements.
Plan inventory, distribution requirements, production, material, and rough-cut capacity for all products.
Participate in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning, product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management, and product-line management.
Analyze and aggregate supply/demand requirements.
Analyze purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
Plan inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.
Assess rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.
Create/reduce supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.
Participate in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.
Interface with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital, and other areas as needed.
Create/releases requisitions and receive/review requirements for non-standard parts.
Analyze lead times and identify critical path procurements.
Convey to the Program Manager and IPT a full understanding of the materials acquisition and subcontractor requirements and plan.
Lead the IPT and direct functional organizations to achieve material-related program objectives (cost, schedule, quality), while managing material risks and opportunities.
Ensure program budget, materials availability, and quality objectives are met by managing and directing the activities of IPT members, the Procurement Team, and external suppliers and customers.
Develop and communicate material acquisition and subcontractor management objectives and strategies.
Manage the Make/Buy process and material risks and obsolescence.
Track and communicate performance against program financial objectives (budget performance, sales, and EBIT).
Identify and promptly communicate all deficiencies and deviations from plan and assure and manage actions required to correct them.
Represent Supply Chain Management to Customers, Program Management, and NG Management.
Support internal and external audits.
Manage material-related proposal activity including line-loss and quotation requests.
Proactively manage and monitor supplier performance.
Promote a focus on safety and utilize Lean, PES, or Six Sigma tools throughout program planning and implementation to emphasize continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
LEVEL 2: 3 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 1 Year with Masters
LEVEL 3: 6 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters
Experience with Costpoint or similar ERP system
MS Office including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to apply risk-based thinking in support of strategic decision-making
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of production, material control, and financial procedures and systems (such as Proposal, Line of Balance, EAC, and Sales Forecasting)
Two (2) or more years of directly related experience with progressively broader responsibility in Materials Management or related discipline with some degree of leadership experience
Familiarity with government contracting requirements and compliance
Some travel may be required.
Salary Range: $63,800 - $95,800
Salary Range 2: $78,700 - $118,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
