Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Engineer to drive supply chain planning and analytics for CNC machining operations, producing engine blocks and cylinder heads.

You will optimize inventory, improve supplier performance, and ensure material availability for critical production, partnering across Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Logistics and Engineering. You will develop analytics, dashboards, and reporting tools to provide visibility into inventory, shortages, and supplier

Qualifications

• Analytical thinking to identify root causes and craft solutions.
• Knowledge of MRP processes and optimizing planning.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements in supply chains.
• Strong project management skills for cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with supply chain modeling and data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze material flow, inventory performance, and production requirements to improve service levels and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics, Scheduling, and Engineering to resolve material constraints.
• Develop and enhance analytics, dashboards, and reporting for visibility of inventory, shortages, and supplier performance.
• Evaluate lead-times, safety stock, and planning parameters to optimize inventory investment.
• Apply industry benchmarks and continuous improvement methodologies to improve planning processes.
• Assess ROI for proposed initiatives and prioritize actions to improve overall supply chain performance.
