Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Material Planning Analyst to schedule, plan, and oversee material procurement, production, and delivery processes within our Large Power Systems Division in Indiana.

The role focuses on ensuring material requirements are met on time and coordinating material flow across manufacturing and inventory. You will develop forecasts and manage replenishment planning for parts and materials to sustain service levels.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the decision-making process and tools; ability to analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
• Knowledge of problem-solving approaches and ability to apply to diverse situations.
• Knowledge of relationship management techniques and ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
• Knowledge of internal resource coordination and ability to synchronize activities for efficient use of resources.
• Knowledge of DRP processes and how to apply them to inventory management within multiple plants/warehouses.
• Knowledge of MRP processes and how to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and capacity.
• Knowledge of material handling and management in plants and related safety considerations.
• Knowledge of transportation and ability to manage shipments and carrier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, plans and oversees material procurement, production and delivery processes.
• Develops and executes material planning for a product line to meet all material requirements in time.
• Organizes the flow of materials within the manufacturing unit and transfers materials to inventory/warehouse.
• Generates forecasts and manages replenishment planning for parts and materials to meet service levels.
