Job summary

CAPTEK Softgel International seeks a Supply Chain Planner to convert approved demand into executable, capacity-constrained production and material plans. You will drive orders from demand review through release, ensuring accurate dates, priorities, and notes for Operations and Customer Service.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Planning Manager, you will link Manufacturing, Scheduling, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality, Warehouse, R&D, Finance, Inventory Control, and Commercial.

Qualifications

• Experience planning in high-volume manufacturing across products, work centers, sites, or shared resources.
• Strong knowledge of MRP, production planning, master scheduling, finite capacity, inventory and lead times.
• Experience creating and maintaining production jobs or batches in a manufacturing ERP.
• Strong ERP and Excel skills to analyze data and drive actions.
• Evaluate job readiness across materials, BOMs, routings, specs, and documentation.
• Execute with discipline, meeting multiple deadlines and highlighting risks.
• Work cross-functionally to resolve priorities and drive follow-through.
• Communicate order status, constraints, and recovery plans clearly.
• Experience with bulk/packaging planning and quality-release dependencies preferred.
• Experience with SYSPRO or similar ERP and tools like Power BI preferred.
• Experience supporting Latest Estimate, SIOP/S&OP, new-product introductions, change control, or inventory optimization.

Responsibilities

• Translate approved demand into time-phased production and material requirements.
• Create production jobs in SYSPRO within 24 hours of complete demand.
• Release, reschedule, or close production jobs per the plan and verify BOMs and docs.
• Maintain accurate planning dates, priorities, and notes in the ERP.
• Identify bottlenecks, aging jobs, and late orders; drive corrective actions.
• Maintain master production plan portions considering capacity and campaigns.
• Perform pre-flight reviews ensuring materials and specs meet requirements.
• Escalate shortages with owners and recovery dates within one business day.
• Provide timely inputs for Latest Estimate and S&OP processes.
• Communicate executable schedules to Operations and realistic recovery plans to Customer Service.

Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Planner converts approved customer demand into executable, capacity- and material-constrained plans for assigned products, work centers, and sites. This role drives orders from demand review and batch creation through release, maintaining accurate dates, priorities, and notes so Operations can execute and Customer Service receives realistic commitments.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Planning Manager, the Supply Chain Planner links Manufacturing, Scheduling, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality, Warehouse, R&D, Finance, Inventory Control, and Commercial. The role maintains assigned demand, batches, dates, and notes; identifies constraints; escalates risks with actions and recovery dates; and tracks actions to completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Reviews approved customer demand, confirms planning inputs are complete, and translates demand into time-phased production and material requirements.
• Creates production jobs and batches in SYSPRO within 24 hours when complete demand and documentation are available and links each job to the applicable sales order or demand signal.
• Creates, releases, reschedules, closes, or cancels production jobs to the approved plan and verifies quantities, formulas, BOMs, routings, and manufacturing documentation before release.
• Maintains accurate planning dates, priorities, commitments, status, and notes in SYSPRO; updates changes within one business day and documents an owner, action, and resolution date for exceptions.
• Monitors demand through batch creation, release, production, and shipment; identifies missing demand, uncreated batches, aging jobs, past-due orders, and conflicting dates and drives correction.
• Maintains assigned portions of the master production plan, balancing demand, requested dates, capacity, labor, equipment, materials, quality status, lead times, and campaign requirements.
• Completes pre-flight and readiness reviews before release by confirming materials, packaging, BOMs, formulas, routings, specifications, batch records, and quality requirements with functional owners.
• Reviews MRP output and escalates material shortages or readiness gaps within one business day, identifying affected orders, customer impact, actions, owners, and recovery dates.
• Partners with the Operations Scheduling Manager to translate the master plan into a finite, executable schedule and maintains alignment between planning priorities, batch readiness, and detailed production sequencing.
• Maintains short-, mid-, and long-range demand and capacity views; identifies bottlenecks, campaign conflicts, and future constraints and recommends recovery actions.
• Provides Procurement and Inventory Control with time-phased requirements, shortage priorities, required dates, inventory risks, and planning changes.
• Coordinates with Quality, R&D, Master Data, and Document Control to resolve missing specifications, formulas, BOMs, routings, batch records, testing, release, and change-control requirements.
• Prepares for daily and weekly planning reviews with the master plan, batch status, dates, notes, material readiness, risks, and actions current; tracks assigned actions through closure.
• Validates production commitments using current facts and distinguishes executable orders from risks, opportunities, and recovery actions before reporting dates.
• Provides accurate supply, capacity, inventory, shipment, and risk inputs for Latest Estimate, SIOP/S&OP, financial planning, and operating reviews.
• Communicates executable schedules to Operations, realistic completion dates and recovery plans to Customer Service, and capacity, backlog, inventory, and risk to the Supply Chain Planning Manager.
• Follows planning standard work, calendars, escalation routines, and ERP practices; maintains desk procedures and uses root-cause analysis to reduce late releases, inaccurate dates, material-driven downtime, schedule volatility, and past-due orders.

• Ability to evaluate job readiness across materials, BOMs, formulas, routings, specifications, documentation, testing, and manufacturing constraints.
• Strong execution discipline; able to manage multiple deadlines, maintain accurate details, and elevate risks before commitments are missed.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, resolve competing priorities, identify risks early, and drive follow-through without positional authority.
• Strong communication skills; able to present order status, constraints, impacts, owners, due dates, and recovery plans.
• Experience planning bulk and packaging operations with shared resources, campaigns, and quality-release dependencies preferred.
• Experience with SYSPRO or a comparable manufacturing ERP, Power BI, and/or finite scheduling tools preferred.
• Experience supporting Latest Estimate, SIOP/S&OP, new-product introductions, change control, or inventory optimization preferred.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of production planning, materials planning, scheduling, or supply chain experience in complex manufacturing; equivalent experience considered.
• FDA-regulated manufacturing experience preferred, including nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics, or medical device.
• APICS/ASCM or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
