Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Supply Chain Operations Supervisor to lead warehouse activities, oversee inbound/outbound operations, and drive lean improvements in a high-tempo manufacturing environment. You will manage a team, coordinate with QA/QC, and ensure inventory integrity with ERP systems.

The role emphasizes safety, process ownership, and cross-functional alignment to meet production deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years combined experience in Material Handling, Inventory, Shipping & Receiving.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in ERP functionality.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct supervisor experience managing floor-level personnel.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional understanding of inventory and warehouse operations.
  • Strong computer skills with G‑Suite applications.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills with speed.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily warehouse and dock material handling activities with equipment to ensure safe, high-density storage of materials and goods.
  • Oversee crane, gantry, and hoist operations for moving equipment across facilities.
  • Interpret lift plans, perform risk assessments, and inspect rigging hardware.
  • Oversee inbound dock operations, receiving, PO verification, unloading, and cross-docking.
  • Ensure efficient material flow patterns and staging layouts using lean methodologies and pull systems.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy; lead pickup/pack, cycle counts, physical inventories, and ERP transaction logging.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC to identify and quarantine non-conforming parts.
  • Enforce all safety protocols across warehouse and loading docks; ensure HazMat compliance.
  • Directly supervise, train, and motivate staff; manage scheduling and performance evaluations.
  • Identify and execute 5S and continuous improvement projects; track metrics.
  • Hire and train new employees.
  • Other tasks as reasonably requested by leadership.

Join the power movement as a Supply Chain Operations Supervisor

As a member of the CFS Supply Chain Operations Team, this manager is responsible for assisting the department in meeting company objectives through warehouse and materials management. Operating within a high-tempo, rapidly evolving research and manufacturing environment, this position demands an engaged, hands‑on leader focused on active process ownership, cross‑functional alignment, and floor‑level operational oversight. The ideal candidate will possess a safety‑first mindset, exceptional communication skills, will be thoroughly organized and have the ability to manage a variety of people and tasks.

What you’ll do:
  • Direct daily warehouse and dock material handling activities using sit‑down fork trucks, stand‑up reach trucks, order pickers, and motorized pallet jacks to ensure safe, damage‑free transfer and high‑density racking storage of raw materials and finished goods
  • Oversee overhead crane, gantry, and hoist operations for moving heavy, high‑value, and oversized equipment across the facility
  • Interpret, evaluate, and enforce engineered lift plans and rigging procedures; perform pre‑lift risk assessments and inspect load‑bearing hardware (slings, shackles, spreader bars) as part of the weekly audit
  • Oversee all inbound dock operations, including receiving, PO verification, unloading, cargo damage inspection, and cross‑docking. Coordinate with internal teams to schedule deliveries and optimize dock space
  • Ensure the orderly distribution of materials, tooling, and components to internal customers. Establish efficient material flow patterns and staging layouts utilizing lean methodologies and pull systems
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by leading pick/pack operations, cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliations Oversee transaction logging within the ERP system (Odoo) and investigate/correct inventory discrepancies
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance/Quality Control to identify, document, track, and quarantine damaged or non‑conforming parts
  • Enforce all safety protocols across the warehouse, staging areas, and loading docks. Maintain clean work environments, correct unsafe behaviors/conditions, and ensure compliance with HazMat storage and MSDS guidelines
  • Directly supervise, train, coach, and motivate team staff. Manage resource allocation to meet daily production deadlines, scheduling, shift assignments, timecard approvals, and performance evaluations
  • Identify and execute 5S and continuous improvement projects to streamline operational bottlenecks and optimize warehouse space utilization. Track key operational metrics and report status to management
  • Hire and train new employees
  • Other tasks as reasonably requested by leadership
