Job summary

CMC is seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee forecasting, purchasing, production planning, logistics, receiving and inventory control. You will develop strategies to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and cost efficiency, while leading cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Proven track record in Lean/continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to drive change and foster cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and MS Office.
  • Demonstrated exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capital investment projects.
  • Develop and mentor operational leadership and succession planning.
  • Champion accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
  • Build, document and refine supply chain processes in support of ISO 9001.
  • Create Master Production Schedule balancing customer and company needs.

This critical role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing administrative aspects of operations including supply chain, forecasting, purchasing, logistics and warehouse functions. This role ensures efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations that support company growth, quality, and customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and manage operational functions through direct supervision of Forecasting, Purchasing, Production Planning, Logistics, Receiving and Inventory Control.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep knowledge business operationsa and effective decision making normally associated with a Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven track record in Lean/continuous improvement methodologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This on-site (Goleta, CA) role operates in both office and manufacturing environments. Requires occasional travel to vendors or company facilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit and stand; using the hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. The employee must occasionally exert or lift to 20 pounds. Successful performance requires good eyesight with or without corrective lens. Requires long periods of time working at a computer and includes phone work.
