Job summary

CMC is seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee forecasting, purchasing, production planning, logistics, receiving and inventory control. You will develop strategies to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and cost efficiency, while leading cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes Lean/continuous improvement, budgeting, and leadership development in a Goleta, CA on-site setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
• Proven track record in Lean/continuous improvement methodologies.
• Financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to drive change and foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and MS Office.
• Demonstrated exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage operational functions through supervision of Forecasting, Purchasing, Production Planning, Logistics, Receiving and Inventory Control.
• Develop and execute operational strategies to meet quality, on-time delivery, efficiency, and profitability.
• Implement best practices in production planning, inventory management, procurement, and logistics.
• Ensure processes meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Engineering and Product to align operations with goals.
• Establish and monitor KPIs across all operational areas.
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capital investment projects.
• Develop and mentor operational leadership and succession planning.
• Champion accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
• Build, document and refine supply chain processes in support of ISO 9001.
• Create Master Production Schedule balancing customer and company needs.
