Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Production Scheduler to build and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production plans that meet shipment goals. You’ll align outbound logistics, serve as SME for planning systems, and lead daily briefings on schedules, bottlenecks, and long-term outlook.

The role partners with site and HQ teams to optimize inventory, delivery, and cost while sustaining SQDC targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Four years Factory Scheduling experience.
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Ability to work 100% on-site in Salt Lake City.
• Ability to travel (limited) to Los Angeles for training during the initial months of the role.

Responsibilities

• Operational Excellence: support KPIs across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost by optimizing inventory flow and shipping priorities.

Job Description

• Production Orchestration: Based on available materials and lead times, develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to ensure 100% attainment of shipment goals.
• Logistics Alignment: Coordinate all outbound shipping activities in direct alignment with the production schedule to ensure seamless transitions from the shop floor to customer delivery.
• Systems Mastery: Serve as the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all material planning and scheduling systems.
• Strategic Reporting: Lead daily production meetings, providing transparent updates on schedule clearness, potential bottlenecks, and the long-term monthly outlook.
• Shortage Management: Partner with the Manufacturing Supply Planner to identify material gaps; execute expedite activities and risk-mitigation strategies to prevent downtime.
• Cross-Functional Synergy: Act as the primary liaison between Site Management and HQ Materials to align local operations with global supply chain objectives.
• Operational Excellence: Support site-wide KPIs across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) by optimizing inventory flow and shipping priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to influence without direct authority.
• Ability to work in a team environment and dynamically align to changing business conditions.
• Oracle Value Chain Applications (ASCP) a plus.
• APICS Certified (CPIM) a plus.

Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 USD
