What To Expect

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Manager to support our development teams and contract manufacturing partners in sourcing passive and semiconductor EE components. These could include parts related to Tesla vehicles, Tesla energy, and other components intrinsic to our products. This role reports to our Supply Chain Group Manager and supports our Engineering groups within Tesla.

What You'll Do
  1. Own an electrical component end-to-end, from influencing engineering design through end of life.
  2. Manage RFQs, ensuring all commercial terms, NDAs, GTCs, piece price agreements, and contracts are negotiated and documented.
  3. Drive piece price negotiations to meet Tesla’s commodity pricing standards, ensuring quality and cost reduction initiatives.
  4. Handle category management including business plans, market conditions, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, and sourcing strategies.
  5. Monitor industry trends, track technology roadmaps, and collaborate with Design teams to mitigate supply and demand challenges.
  6. Manage supplier relationships, performance, dispute resolution, scorecards, and business reviews.
  7. Participate in design reviews, change control meetings, and technical discussions with Engineering.
  8. Understand technical datasheets, specifications, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance for relevant commodities.
  9. Communicate effectively with technical stakeholders internally and externally.
  10. Report key supply, cost, and quality issues to management and develop corrective action plans.
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years in supply chain or commodity management for high-volume manufacturing categories.
  • Technical and commercial understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in technical requirements, product design, and influencing cross-functional partners.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Preferred 3+ years in semiconductor or related commodity management, with knowledge of electrical engineering concepts.
