We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Manager to join our client's team on a direct hire basis. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of parts to their assembly team. This individual will be responsible for meeting targets for vendor quality, on‑time delivery of parts, setting inventory levels and making sure their ERP and parts picking software systems operate to expectations. This role will define the strategy for setting stocking levels and MOQs, as well as lead their vendor management efforts. Must have experience in a manufacturing environment and be very comfortable with leading change. This is a great opportunity for someone to build their own systems and processes, building them from the ground floor. The role will oversee the purchasing and inventory teams, reporting directly to the President.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain: Develop, implement and monitor supply chain strategies that align with production schedules and business objectives. Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes, ensuring timely sourcing of raw materials, purchased parts and ink supply.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure there is no disruption to production. Lead purchasing and warehouse teams to order materials as needed. Responsible for setting safety stock levels and minimum order quantities using historical usage and sales pipeline.
  • Actively and continuously negotiate with suppliers to reduce procurement costs, volume rebates and/or other incentives whether related to inventory or maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) spending.
  • Source alternate vendors and minimize sole source suppliers.
  • Production Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and update purchasing planning to ensure parts arrive on time.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the production, procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure smooth communication and alignment of production schedules with customer demands and supply chain constraints.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any production delays or issues, collaborating with relevant departments to implement solutions and minimize downtime.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production KPI’s, inventory levels, and performance metrics for management review.

Core Management Responsibilities:

  • Oversee timecard review and payroll submission for direct reports and manage time off requests to guarantee adequate staffing for continuous operational needs.
  • Actively manage and promote safety within the team by setting clear expectations, modeling safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, proposing solutions, and supporting efforts that enhance team performance and operational excellence.
  • Address interpersonal issues, attendance issues, and other personnel issues, and enforce company policies consistently and fairly to maintain a productive, professional work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in systems or industrial engineering, supply chain management, operations management, data management or 5+ years of work related experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft suite
  • Strong understanding of industrial equipment production processes, inventory control, and supply chain management
  • Proficiency with production planning software and tools (e.g., WMS/MRP/ERP systems).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills, with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency
