Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory control in a manufacturing environment. You will drive end-to-end supply chain operations, ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR and AS9100, and partner with suppliers to deliver cost savings and performance improvements.

Responsibilities include managing a senior buyer and team, negotiating contracts, overseeing ERP transactions (QAD or equivalent), and ensuring timely delivery to support

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of supply chain or purchasing experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience overseeing receiving, shipping, freight, and inventory activities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the Senior Buyer and purchasing team.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and supply agreements.
  • Process purchase orders, track delivery, and resolve supplier discrepancies.
  • Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers; manage NDAs and vendor setup in QAD.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions.
  • Visit suppliers to resolve issues, support new projects, and maintain relationships.
  • Request certifications, FAI packages, and compliance documentation.
  • Manage RMAs and ensure timely resolution of non-conformances.
  • Maintain compliance with FAR/DFAR, government contracting regulations, and AS9100.
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies aligned to business goals.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value creation, and supply chain optimization.
  • Manage freight and logistics carrier contracts.
  • Oversee all incoming material activities to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant receipt of goods.
  • Verify incoming shipments for quantity, quality, certifications, and purchase-order accuracy.
  • Resolve receiving errors, damaged shipments, or documentation issues with suppliers.
  • Ensure proper labeling, inspection routing, ERP receiving transactions, and storage of materials.
  • Maintain material traceability and compliance with AS9100 requirements.
  • Manage inbound freight scheduling, unloading processes, and documentation.
  • Oversee outbound shipments to customers and suppliers, ensuring accuracy and on time delivery.
  • Prepare and review packing lists, BOLs, export documents, certifications, and other required documents.
  • Coordinate outbound freight, carrier selection, pickups, and scheduling.
  • Ensure packaging, documentation, and shipping requirements meet customer and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain export compliance and hazardous material shipping control when applicable.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and control in support of production schedules.
  • Oversee cycle count programs; identify discrepancies and drive corrective action.
  • Ensure accurate ERP inventory transactions including issues, receipts, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Oversee pulling parts for work orders and delivering materials to production teams.
  • Monitor inventory levels, storage conditions, and material traceability.
  • Manage occasional materials outside of ERP with controlled workflows.
  • Attend production, supplier status, and management meetings.
  • Support Program Managers, Sales, Accounting, and Operations with material-related needs.
  • Create Small Business plans for contracts over $750,000.
  • Maintain Small Business tracking and submit semi-annual and annual government reports.
  • Manage GIDEP alerts as required.
  • Provide monthly activity, performance, and cost-savings reports to upper management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Supply Chain Manager oversees all supply chain functions including procurement, supplier

management, receiving, shipping, inventory control, and logistics. This role ensures materials,

information, and financial flows operate efficiently and support production demand and

company objectives.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing; Lean/6 Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
  • Understanding of receiving, shipping, logistics, and inventory control best practices.
  • Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
  • Consistent attendance and reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of supply chain or purchasing experience in a production or manufacturing
  • Experience overseeing receiving, shipping, freight, and inventory activities preferred.
