Position Overview
LAWLESS Beauty is seeking a proactive, analytical, and experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee the end-to-end product life cycle for our growing cosmetics brand. You will lead sourcing, procurement, supply planning, inventory management, and logistics, ensuring high-quality, sustainable materials are delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment and is skilled at building strong supplier relationships while optimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies to optimize material flow across DTC and wholesale channels.
- Partner with Marketing and Sales to translate demand forecasts into actionable finished good production plans.
- Own material resource planning to support timely finished good manufacturing and new product launches.
- Assess forecasts and adjust supply plans to support business demand and launch timing.
- Prepare regular forecast and inventory updates for leadership, including key risks and timing considerations.
- Build and maintain strong purchasing relationships with contract manufacturing partners and key component vendors.
- Lead negotiations for pricing, contracts, MOQs, and lead times.
- Manage vendor performance and ensure alignment with brand and timeline expectations.
- Track supplier performance against production timelines and delivery commitments, and elevate issues as needed.
- Maintain visibility into open purchase orders and production status across key vendors and manufacturing partners.
Inventory Optimization
- Monitor inventory levels for packaging components and finished goods across multiple sites to ensure product availability while minimizing carrying costs, excess, and obsolescence.
- Partner with retail planning teams to align on forecasts and purchase order timing.
- Build and maintain reporting to track inventory position, inventory risk, and future supply needs across components and finished goods.
- Identify and communicate inventory risks, including potential shortages, excess, and slow-moving inventory.
Quality
- Work closely with vendors and manufacturing partners to improve and refine quality protocols to maintain brand standards across all product categories.
Logistics & Distribution
- Oversee 3PL partnerships and transportation for efficient, cost-effective distribution of finished goods and components.
- Ensure compliance with retailer routing guidelines and fulfillment requirements.
- Coordinate inbound shipments with suppliers, freight partners, and warehouse providers to support timely receipt of materials and finished goods.
- Monitor shipment timing and delivery status to help ensure product availability and on-time fulfillment.
- Develop dual-sourcing strategies and contingency plans for critical raw materials and components to ensure uninterrupted production.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to maintain data integrity, track KPIs (inventory turns, on-time delivery), and generate actionable reports.
- Develop recurring reporting on inventory, supplier performance, and service levels to support operational decision-making.
- Analyze supply chain performance and recommend process improvements to support efficiency, visibility, and execution.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
- 5-7+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or demand planning, preferably within the skincare, cosmetics, or personal care industry.
- Strong experience with skincare and cosmetics packaging components is required.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling); NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to balance multiple priorities across a fast-moving launch calendar.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally on a lean team where you own the outcome end to end.
- APICS (CPIM or CSCP) certification is a plus.
