Crestwood Partners has been retained on a highly confidential search for a Supply Chain Manager with an established US manufacturing business in Richmond VA.

This opportunity could suit an existing Supply Chain Manager, but it could equally be a strong next step for a Senior Buyer, Purchasing Manager or Procurement Manager who is ready to take ownership of a much broader function.

The business is looking for someone who combines traditional supply chain capability with a genuine interest in technology, systems, data and process improvement.

You’ll have responsibility across:

• Supplier relationships and commercial negotiations
• Sourcing and procurement
• Inventory and demand planning
• Purchasing operations
• Material availability and production support
• Freight and logistics coordination
• Leadership of an established purchasing team
• Improving supply chain processes, systems and reporting
• Using technology and data to support better purchasing and inventory decisions

The role is particularly well suited to somebody who is ambitious, hands-on and technologically minded, and who wants the opportunity to shape how a supply chain function operates rather than simply maintain existing processes.

You may currently be working as a Senior Buyer, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Manager or Senior Supply Chain Specialist.

What matters most is that you understand purchasing and supplier management, can operate effectively within a manufacturing environment, and are ready for broader leadership responsibility.

We're looking to engage candidates with the following experience:

• 5+ years’ experience across purchasing, procurement, sourcing or supply chain
• Manufacturing or industrial background
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
• Good understanding of inventory, demand planning and material availability
• Technologically minded, with confidence using ERP systems, data and automation
• Leadership potential, whether already managing people or ready to step up
• Ambitious, hands-on and keen to progress into broader supply chain leadership

There is a genuine progression path toward Supply Chain Director as the function develops.

This is an on-site-led position in Virginia.
