Job summary

RRC - Ruiz Recruiting & Consulting is hiring a Supply Chain Manager for a leader in the A&D space in California. You will lead purchasing and planning teams, drive performance, and ensure on-time delivery while optimizing costs.

In this role you will oversee material planning, ERP/MRP workflows, supplier negotiations, inventory control, shipping, and cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and IT to support business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in purchasing, materials management, production planning, inventory control, or related functions.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience leading high-performing teams.
• Experience in MAPICS/AS400 ERP environment and processing material transactions.
• Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier performance, inventory optimization, scheduling, and cost reduction.
• APICS certification strongly preferred.
• Import/export trade compliance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop purchasing and planning teams to drive accountability and performance.
• Oversee material planning, scheduling, and purchasing using MRP/ERP to maintain production efficiency and 96%+ on-time delivery.
• Manage supplier selection, contract negotiations, long-term agreements, and supplier development.
• Oversee inventory control, stockroom accuracy, inventory turns, and material flow while reducing excess inventory.
• Direct shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure timely deliveries and traceability.
• Identify opportunities to reduce material and logistics costs and manage departmental budgets and inventory reporting.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and IT to resolve supply chain challenges and support objectives.

What You'll Do (The Impact)

• Oversee material planning, scheduling, and purchasing activities using MRP/ERP systems to maintain production efficiency and achieve 96%+ on-time customer delivery.
• Manage supplier selection, contract negotiations, long-term agreements, and supplier development programs to improve quality, delivery, and cost.
• Oversee inventory control, stockroom accuracy, inventory turns, and material flow while reducing excess inventory and improving lead times.
• Direct shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure timely deliveries, product traceability, and efficient material movement.
• Identify opportunities to reduce material and logistics costs, manage departmental budgets and P&L, and deliver monthly inventory reporting.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and IT to resolve supply chain challenges, improve processes, and support business objectives.

What You Bring (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in purchasing, materials management, production planning, inventory control, or related functions.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience inMAPICS/AS400 is required, including experience processing material transactions and managing planning activities within an ERP/MRP environment.
• Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier performance, inventory optimization, production scheduling, and cost reduction.
• APICS certification strongly preferred.
• Import/export trade compliance experience preferred.
