Job summary

CRC Industries is seeking a Materials Planner to plan and order direct materials, including chemicals, containers, valves, cartons, and buttons. You will review BOMs and specs to determine material quantities and document needs for processing orders, adjusting for inventory and EOQ sizes.

The role requires strong MRP experience, purchasing oversight, and close collaboration with Quality Control and R&D to maintain accurate specifications and efficient supply chains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business Management required.
• 5+ years in manufacturing with logistics, ordering and planning experience.
• Experience with MRP, BOM, and inventory control is essential.

Responsibilities

• Understand and utilize MRP to schedule orders and manage inventory.
• Determine order requirements within purchasing lead time and issue purchase orders.
• Create Purchase Orders and confirm delivery from suppliers; ensure cost accuracy.
• Calculate stocking levels and EOQ per SKU to optimize service levels.
• Communicate and process changes to orders with vendors.
• Manage railcars placement and chemical logistics.
• Maintain PO files, invoice reconciliation and related purchasing records.
• Receive inventory and resolve quantity discrepancies on POs.
• Assist in developing purchasing-related processes and procedures.
• Coordinate with Quality Control to resolve supplier issues.
• Collaborate with R&D to ensure specs are followed and accurate.
• Support Safety Programs and protect organizational assets.
• Participate in monthly SIOP demand and supply planning.
• Assist Planning parameters with the Supply Chain Manager.
• Perform other duties to support CRC’s business operations.

Responsible for planning and ordering direct materials: raw materials including chemicals, containers, valves, cartons and/or buttons. Reviews messages, BOMs and product specifications to accurately determine quantity of materials needed. Documents overall material need, including all codes, brands, and contact information necessary to process orders. Adjust amounts for existing inventory and for orders of economic order sizes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand and utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to schedule orders as well as manage inventory in support of the segment responsible.
• Determine order requirements within purchasing lead time and initiate purchase orders.
• Create Purchase Orders per demand and confirm delivery from Suppliers. Ensure product cost fields are accurate and reflect current active Supplier Pricing.
• Calculate and manage target stocking levels and economic order quantities per SKU throughout the distribution network to ensure high customer service levels.
• Ensure appropriate communication and processing of changed orders with vendors.
• Management of railcars placement and chemical logistics
• Maintain purchase order files, invoice reconciliation and other related purchasing records.
• Receive inventory into system and resolve discrepancies in quantities on Purchase Orders with vendors.
• Recommend and assist in development of purchasing related processes and procedures.
• Work with Quality Control to facilitate resolution of quality issues with suppliers.
• Work with R&D to ensure spec processes are followed and remain accurate.
• Cooperate in Safety Programs and corporate initiatives. Support compliance by maintaining the confidentiality of information and protecting the assets of the organization with ethics and integrity.
• Participate in monthly SIOP process reviewing demand and supply planning.
• Assist the Supply Chain Manager in defining Planning parameters and in understanding the role each data element plays within the Planning process.
• Perform other duties deemed necessary to support the CRC’s business operations

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

• 5+ years within a manufacturing environment, with logistics, ordering & planning experience
• Minimum 5 years of functional experience of manufacturing computer applications; MRP, purchasing, BOM, Inventory Control Etc.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations or Business Mgmt.
