Job summary

Tendeg is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead a purchasing team responsible for major equipment procurement, driving cost, schedule and quality improvements. You will coordinate with Project Management, Engineering and Finance to meet program milestones and compliance requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, process improvement ability, and experience with government contracting and procurement systems. This position operates in a professional office and manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
• Experience with commodity, category and sourcing management; government contract experience preferred.
• familiarity with FAR/DFARS compliance and technical reading of requirements
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship skills

Responsibilities

• Act as internal and external focal point for procurement of major equipment.
• Ensure purchase orders meet specs, schedules and budgets; manage from signing to payment.
• Lead approvals for purchase requests and coordinate with PM and Engineering.
• Track vendor KPIs and provide procurement data to finance and leadership.
• Train Specialists, implement SOPs, and set SMART goals for the team.
• Drive process improvements in Procurement Execution and support project pipelines.

The Supply Chain Manager will lead a team of buyers to define, develop and improve the supply base and ensure it's support to programs. You'll establish priorities to maintain production schedules to ensure program milestones and delivery requirements are met, as well as coordinate with executive management, program management and other department managers to ensure the company's material, planning and production objectives are accomplished. You'll function as a supply chain liaison within the business by collaborating with Operations, planning, and the logistics groups. You'll drive innovation by maximizing capabilities of current procurement management systems and seek out new advancements in technology and process. You'll drive the supply chain discovery process, drive implementation and deployment for complex projects. You'll ensure meaningful supply chain KPIs (key performance indicators) are set, measured and communicated across the organization to drive visibility on goals, as well as provide leadership to direct reports, including responsibility for your department's performance.Job Responsibilities:Act as the internal and external focal point for all matters relating to procurement of major equipment for their respective equipment categoryResponsible for ensuring Purchase Orders are executed that meet project specifications, schedules, and budgetsEnsure major equipment POs are successfully carried out from signing to final payment, coordinating heavily with Sourcing and Logistics as neededLeading purchase requests through the approvals processResponsible for coordinating with Project Management and EngineeringTrack, handle and ensure vendor KPIsSupports finance with investor or lender communication through pulling data to support procurement efforts on equipment.Assist with facilitating warranty claims through CODFirst point of escalation when Procurement Execution issues ariseResponsible for training Specialists to be successful including crafting/implementing SOPs, assigning trainings to fill knowledge gaps, and ensuring employees have SMART yearly goals and are evaluated fairly against themEnsure team member workload is distributed equitably and that team sizing is appropriate to future project pipelineLead process improvement initiatives as they relate to Procurement ExecutionCultivate positive relationships inside and outside of the companyRepresent the company by demonstrating things we value and cultureassignedPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications/Education:Bachelor's degree in a related field of study3-4 years of relevant experience may substitute for required educationPrefer a candidate with both development and production experience skillsIn-depth working knowledge of commodity, Category and Sourcing ManagementBackground in manufacturing timelines and requirements Ability to read and understand technical requirementsExperience working in Supply Chain supporting government contractsWorking knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) complianceProficient negotiations skillsCandidate must have Supply Chain Management skillWorking ConditionsThis job operates in a professional office, laboratory, and manufacturing environment.
