Job summary

Moog in Christiansburg, VA, is hiring a Supply Chain Manager to lead the local supply chain team and align strategic goals with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Sales. The role emphasizes leadership, process excellence, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure delivery and cost objectives are met.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in manufacturing supply chain, with ERP/MRP experience and travel up to 10–15%. Onsite work in Christiansburg, VA is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years experience leading supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or materials management in manufacturing.
• Experience developing and implementing supply chain strategies, processes, and metrics.
• Knowledge of purchasing, supplier management, inventory control, demand planning, and material flow.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute supply chain strategies, policies, and KPIs for growth and excellence.
• Establish scalable processes and integrate legacy practices for high-reliability manufacturing.
• Manage supplier relationships including selection, performance, contracts, and risk mitigation.
• Lead sourcing and procurement for direct/indirect materials and partners.
• Oversee demand planning, inventory, material flow, and supply continuity.
• Support new product introductions with proactive planning.
• Develop local supply chain team and drive cost, quality, delivery, profitability improvements.
• Partner with Eng, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales to align supply chain with requirements.
• Drive cross-functional projects to improve agility, resilience and performance.
• Ensure compliance with policies, ISO and trade regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience leading supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or materials management functions within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing and implementing supply chain strategies, processes, and performance metrics.
• Knowledge of purchasing practices, supplier management, inventory control, demand planning, and material flow management.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to lead teams and influence cross‑functional stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing solutions to complex supply‑chain challenges.
• Strong leadership, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical components and assemblies.
• Ability to travel approximately 10‑15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute supply chain strategies, policies, procedures, and key performance indicators that support business growth and operational excellence.
• Establish scalable supply chain processes while integrating legacy practices to support high‑reliability manufacturing programs.
• Manage supplier relationships, including supplier selection, performance management, contract negotiations, and risk mitigation activities.
• Lead sourcing and procurement efforts for direct and indirect materials, including outsourced and contract manufacturing partners.
• Oversee demand planning, inventory management, material flow, and supply continuity to support production requirements.
• Support new product introductions and prototype builds through proactive supply chain planning and execution.
• Lead and develop the local supply chain team while driving initiatives that improve cost, quality, delivery, and profitability.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales to align supply chain strategy with business and customer requirements.
• Drive cross‑functional projects that strengthen supply chain agility, resilience, responsiveness, and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO requirements, and applicable trade regulations.
