Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Indianapolis seeks a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends.

You will help plan, route, monitor freight movement, and maintain a strong safety culture while developing leadership skills. The program includes training in DOT compliance, payroll administration, driver coaching, and performance reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business/logistics.
• 1 year of management/transportation/logistics experience with diploma/GED.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights/weekends.
• Willingness to relocate regionally based on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and outside carriers.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects for profitability.
• Train drivers and staff on internal systems and processes.
• Contribute to fleet efficiency, profitability, and KPI reporting.
• Manage yard, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance.
• Plan loads and monitor freight to meet schedules and service levels.
