Supply Chain Lead, Procurement – GPU Infrastructure

Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned hardware procurement and supply chain leader to own supplier relationships, drive capacity planning, and optimize purchasing decisions for our cloud hardware deployments in the Bay Area.

You will collaborate with engineering on specifications, manage vendor evaluations and negotiations, and build scalable procurement workflows that reduce risk and accelerate deployments across data-center environments.

Qualifications

• Requires experience owning hardware procurement, supply chain, or materials planning in cloud infrastructure, data centers, electronics, or similar.
• Direct responsibility for supplier relationships, commercial negotiations, purchasing decisions, and delivery commitments.
• Experience managing supply against changing demand, including shortages, long lead times, and excess inventory.
• Understanding of server and infrastructure hardware to work with engineering on specs and purchasing tradeoffs.
• Strong analytical skills and experience building planning tools, procurement workflows, or inventory reporting.
• Track record resolving problems across suppliers, logistics, finance, and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier relationships with hardware manufacturers, distributors, integrators, and logistics partners.
• Lead sourcing and purchasing for GPUs, servers, networking equipment, racks, spares, and supporting hardware.
• Run vendor evaluations and RFQs, negotiate terms, and manage purchases.
• Translate capacity requirements and deployment schedules into purchasing plans.
• Track orders through manufacturing, shipment, and receipt; resolve delays and discrepancies.
• Develop alternatives when supply risks deployment timelines.
• Partner with engineering on specs, substitutions, cost, availability, compatibility, and timing.
• Manage inventory, spares, warranties, returns, replacements, and end-of-life disposition.
• Evaluate acquisition costs, payment terms, inventory exposure, and delayed-capacity costs.
• Present purchasing recommendations to finance and leadership.
• Build procurement workflows and controls for approvals, order tracking, inventory reconciliation, and invoice discrepancies.
• Automate repetitive procurement work and maintain reliable records.
• Keep supply and deployment aligned by providing equipment milestones and surfacing risks.
• Define supplier performance measures and improve purchasing and planning practices.
• Help hire and develop the procurement and supply planning team.

• Track record of resolving problems across suppliers, logistics providers, finance, and technical teams
• Comfort handling detailed execution while building a more scalable operating process
• Clear communication about costs, commitments, risks, and decisions
