Job summary

Charter Manufacturing is a family‑owned company seeking a Supply Chain Intern in Milwaukee to support production planning, scheduling, and inventory management. The role offers hands-on experience creating production schedules for multiple assets while balancing demand, priorities, and capacity.

The program features part‑time hours during the academic year and full‑time hours in the summer, with a January 2027 start and a year‑round internship structure.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field with current status of at least a sophomore level.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production performance, capacity utilization, inventory levels, and raw material availability to help optimize production schedules and support on‑time delivery.
• Assist with raw material procurement activities and help manage inventory that supports the manufacturing process.
• Perform routine inventory audits to validate system accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Provide day‑to‑day support for the Procurement and Planning teams by assisting with ad hoc projects, data analysis, process improvements, and other supply chain initiatives.

About the Supply Chain Internship:

Support a fast‑paced manufacturing environment by assisting with production planning, scheduling, and inventory management activities. The intern will gain hands‑on experience creating and maintaining production schedules for multiple manufacturing assets while balancing changing customer demand, production priorities, material availability, and capacity constraints.

Program structure:

Schedule: Part‑time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full‑time (40 hours/week) during the summer. Location: Milwaukee, WI Start Date: January 2027 Duration: Year‑round internship

What we’re looking for:

• Enrollment in a four‑year degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field with current status of at least a sophomore level.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Ability to succeed in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Preferred experience: ERP experience. Purchasing experience. Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S tools.
