Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation, Inc. is seeking a student to support Strategic Purchasing, Global Sourcing, and Operations within Defense Aftermarket in Spartanburg, SC.

You will review price lists, send RFQs, gather data, and assist in vendor communications. The role requires a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related fields, with a 3.0+ GPA and willingness to work full-time in summers and part-time during the school year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations management, economics, logistics, packaging science, or related field.
• Graduation date of May 2028 or later.
• Completed at least Sophomore year coursework with a GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Willingness to work full-time hours during summers and breaks, and around 20 hours per week during the school year.
• Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Strategic Purchasing, Global Sourcing, and Operational duties within Defense Aftermarket.
• Review, transform, and upload supplier price lists; send RFQs.
• Gather and compile information to request quotes from suppliers.
• Extract data from JDE/SAS and other divisions.
• Download drawings and communicate with vendors to resolve issues.
• Consult with sales, accounting, finance, and engineers to ensure accurate information transfer.
• Maintain vendor accounts and gain personal vendor accounts after becoming familiar with J.D. Edwards systems.
• Provide support to Buyers and Purchasing Agents in procuring goods and services from suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the areas of Strategic Purchasing, Global Sourcing, and Operational duties within Defense Aftermarket.
• Review, transform, and upload supplier price lists Send request for quotes.
• Gather and compile necessary information in order to request quotes from suppliers.
• Extract data from JDE/SAS and other divisions.
• Download drawings.
• Communicate with venders to solve problems through collaboration and negotiation.
• Consult with sales individuals, accounting and finance, engineers to ensure correct transfer of information.
• Maintain vendor accounts (work into gaining own personal vendor accounts after becoming comfortable with J.D. Edwards systems).
• Provide support to Buyers and Purchasing Agents in the procurement of goods and services from suppliers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Operations Management, Economics, Logistics, packaging science, or related field.
• Graduation date of May 2028 or later.
• Completed at least Sophomore year coursework (or equivalent) GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Must be willing to work full-time hours during summers and breaks, and part-time hours (around 20 hours per week) during the school year.

PAY RANGE

$18.00 - $37.00 The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
