Job summary

The BorgWarner Arden campus offers a Supply Chain Intern role within the purchasing team, focusing on developing processes to create efficiencies, analyzing data, and supporting audit prep work. As an intern you will contribute to various continuous improvement initiatives, gain hands-on experience with purchasing workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment at Arden, NC.

All positions start at an above market pay rate for that position.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
• Strong self-learning ability and willingness to explore new tools and processes.
• Intermediate Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, charts).
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized.
• Preferred qualifications: SAP experience; familiarity with AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support purchasing processes to reduce manual effort.
• Analyze data to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Assist with internal/external audit prep and LPAs.

Job Purpose

The BorgWarner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

The Supply Chain Intern will be a part of the purchasing team, developing processes to create efficiencies, analyzing data, and supporting with audit prep work.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support processes within the Purchasing team to reduce time consuming activities
• Conducting data analysis to identify trends, verify solutions, and support decision-making
• Supporting internal/external audit prep and layered process audits (LPAs)
• Creating or updating work instructions
• Preparing and presenting project updates and final results to the team and leadership

What we are looking for

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field
• Strong self-learning ability and willingness to explore new tools, systems, and processes
• Intermediate Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, charts, data cleaning)
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Detail-oriented
• Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with AI Tools
  • Familiarity with SAP
