Job summary

Baptist Health Walker Hospital is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to manage inbound and outbound shipments, verify deliveries, and maintain accurate records. You will coordinate dock traffic, assist with capital equipment handling, and support inventory management.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and strong communication. Experience with forklifts and dock equipment is preferred, and all duties support day-one benefits and a fast-paced

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for inbound/outbound shipments and coordinate dock traffic.
• Receive, verify, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
• Resolve shipping discrepancies and coordinate with Purchasing on delivery issues.
• Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including returns and required documentation.
• Perform data entry and maintain shipping/receiving records.
• Coordinate delivery of capital equipment, supplies, implants, biologics, tissue, and medications.
• Work with Clinical Engineering on equipment check-in/out processes.
• Prioritize and distribute supplies to requesting departments promptly.
• Support inventory management, stock validation, and cycle counts.
• Maintain organized records and clear communication with internal/external customers.

Position Summary:

Responsible for a variety of routine tasks and functions to receive, ship, and distribute supplies to hospital departments, providing timely and accurate availability of required supplies.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Serves as the primary point of contact for inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating dock traffic and deliveries.
• Receives, verifies, and inspects incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
• Resolves shipping discrepancies and collaborates with Purchasing on delivery issues.
• Prepares and processes outgoing shipments, including returns, repairs, and required documentation.
• Performs data entry and maintains accurate shipping and receiving records.
• Coordinates delivery and handling of capital equipment, supplies, implants, biologics, tissue, and medications.
• Partners with Clinical Engineering to manage equipment check-in and check-out processes.
• Prioritizes and distributes supplies and materials to requesting departments in a timely manner.
• Supports inventory management activities, including stock validation, put-away processes, and inventory counts.
• Maintains organized records, a clean work environment, and effective communication with internal and external customers while performing other assigned duties.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, preferred.

Experience

• Two (2) years of experience in supply chain warehousing, receiving dock, or shipping and receiving.
• Experience with use of heavy equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack, dock equipment, preferred.
• Familiarity with automated Supply Chain Management systems.
