Altec in Duluth, MN is seeking a Supply Chain / Business Analyst Intern to support the Materials team. This internship offers hands-on experience across purchasing, inventory, and manufacturing operations while providing opportunities to lead meaningful projects and process improvements.

You will develop reporting and analytics in Excel and other systems, collaborate with Purchasing, Inventory Control, Warehouse and Production to optimize materials flow, and learn ERP tools used by the team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a related field such as Supply Chain, Business, Business Analytics, Operations, Finance, or Industrial Engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a data-driven mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication across teams and departments.
• Organizational skills to balance daily tasks with longer projects.
• Willingness to learn new systems, tools, and processes.
• Prior supply chain, manufacturing, data analysis, or business experience is beneficial but not required.
• Must be enrolled full-time and in good standing.
• Minimum age 18 and at least 24 credit hours completed with GPA 2.8/4.0.

Responsibilities

• Support Materials team with daily purchasing, inventory, and supply chain activities.
• Assist Buyers with PO management, supplier communication, order status, and expediting materials.
• Analyze inventory, shortages, supplier performance, and purchasing activity for improvements.
• Complete projects related to inventory optimization, freight reduction, and process improvements.
• Develop reports and analytical tools using Excel and other systems.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Inventory Control, Warehouse, and Production to improve Materials processes.
• Assist with problem solving for material availability and production requirements.
• Learn and use ERP and reporting tools used by Materials team.
• Support other Materials and Supply Chain initiatives as needed.
