Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers in Aiken, South Carolina, seeks a Contract Specialist I to optimize costs by validating contract compliance in vendor billing. You will facilitate patient billing by ensuring contract requirements and pricing are met, while supporting clinical areas with simplified supply chain processes.

The role involves reviewing vendor invoices, resolving pricing discrepancies, creating purchase requisitions, and assisting the billing office with item numbers for claims.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of supply chain analysis experience.
• Healthcare supply chain experience preferred.
• Projects a positive attitude, demonstrated teamwork competencies, and a strong work ethic.
• Capacity to identify and resolve pricing and contract validity issues.
• Clinical understanding and ability to support large entities and/or a large number of entities.
• Focused attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Ability to use ECM, ECRI, Citrix, and MSS.

Responsibilities

• Reviews vendor invoicing of surgical items such as implants to ensure that vendors comply with UHS negotiated contract prices and items.
• Works with local vendor representative to resolve pricing discrepancies and items that are not under contract. Escalates issues that cannot be resolved with local vendor representative to UHS and vendor Corporate departments.
• Creates requisitions for disposable product orders received from departments. Ensures unit of measures and pricings are correct and that quantities are not unusually high. Approves and sends for next level of authorization.
• Assists the billing office with supply pricing and item number information needed to bill the patient and their insurance company.
• May do monthly reporting on high value items orders that have not yet been issued an PO to assist department with monthly expense accruals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Description:
