JOB SUMMARY:
The individual in this role leads the receiving function and is responsible for all inbound shipments. Major responsibilities include scheduling inbound deliveries, communicating with freight brokers and Bridgetown Purchasing team, generating daily receiving plans for forklift drivers and documenting all activities as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create and manage daily receiving plan and insure timely receipt of all deliveries. This includes scheduling inbound receiving appointments with freight brokers and drivers.
- Oversee receiving activities including UPS, FedEx and other courier services.
- Reporting and communication of inbound transaction activities with Finance and Purchasing teams.
- Participate in monthly physical inventory and routine cycle counts.
- Maintain and organize documentation of all transactions so that it is easily accessible in case of audit, recall, or other need. This includes inspection, labeling and reviewing delivery documentation.
- Entering Raw Material receipts into company database.
- Document and submit all inbound freight claims to Finance department.
- Ensure a clean and orderly warehouse and dock area, maintaining a professional appearance, appropriate confidentiality, and adhering to company policies on materials management.
- Provide guidance to warehouse and production employees in regards to receiving materials.
- Participate in and will actively support all Bridgetown Natural Foods safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet company, SQF and regulatory requirements.
- Report all food safety issues.
- Follow all company policies and procedures as well as the GMP’s and SOP’s.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-3 years of warehouse leadership experience preferred
- Experience driving a Forklift. Sit-down and Stand-up preferred.
- Ability and willingness to learn and apply company standards including, but not limited to lock-out/tag-out, safety practices, GMP’s, SOP’s, employee handbook, etc.
- Must be customer and team-oriented, reliable and able to meet attendance standards.
- Accuracy, attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment, being flexible and adaptive to changing needs.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong time management skills required; ability to adhere to a schedule and sustain the required pace of work.
- Ability to handle multiple competing assignments without losing focus on quality and food safety, priorities and daily plans, as well as sticking to established workflows.
- Willing to gain new skills and knowledge and show good listening skills. Willing to share knowledge with others.
- Ability to understand and communicate instructions in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc..
- Basic math skills
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:
- Ability to sit/walk/stand up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to work overtime if needed.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely.
- Ability to regularly lift and manipulate bags, boxes, and buckets up to and including 60 lbs.
- Able to work in an environment containing nuts, peanuts, dairy, grains and other allergens.
- Must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately.
