Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Category Manager, Raw Materials to lead procurement and supplier management across assigned commodities. You will shape spend strategy, improve TCO, and secure supply continuity while working with cross-functional teams.

This 100% remote role welcomes candidates across the United States. The position emphasizes negotiations, vendor management, and ERP experience (SAP or Ariba) in a global context, with a base salary in the listed range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of procurement experience with complex projects.
• 3+ years of negotiations including RFI/RFP/RFQ and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Own suppliers within assigned commodities and manage relationships.
• Segment spend into sub-commodity groups to drive cost improvements.
• Develop commodity strategy to meet goals and ensure supply continuity.
• Lead execution of strategies with preferred/non-preferred suppliers and LTAs.
• Review analyses to inform spend drivers and cost projections.
• Conduct regular SRMs with strategic suppliers and leadership.
• Create presentations for supplier reviews and gap analyses.
• Plan to meet metrics on terms, on-time delivery, and productivity.
• Track industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Procurement.

About the role

As a Category Manager, Raw Materials you will lead category and operational management for assigned commodities. You will improve total cost, quality, delivery, and reliability to reach organizational goals and be the primary contact for suppliers within assigned commodities.

You will report to the Senior Category Manager, Raw Materials Category Management and work remotely. 100% Remote role.

Key Responsibilities

• Primary relationship owner for suppliers within assigned commodities
• Manage the segmentation of assign spend into sub commodity groups to create levers to achieve operational excellence
• Develop an overall commodity strategy to meet organizational goals by improving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while securing supply continuity through identifying and mitigating current and potential risks and opportunities in the commodity strategy.
• Lead the execution of the commodity strategy through a preferred supplier list "right-sizing" non-preferred suppliers, and rewarding preferred partners with business awards tied to Long Term Agreements with year over year improvements in cost, delivery, quality, service, and profitability.
• Review analysis from Power BI and other tools to create insights into the drivers of assign commodity and possible effects to spend and cost projections to use as levers with our supply base.
• Conduct regular business reviews (SRM) with strategic suppliers with teams and senior leadership.with important and strategic suppliers with teams and senior leadership.
• Create presentations for supplier relationship management reviews, commodity strategies, risk mitigation proposals, 4-Blockers, and supplier/commodity gap analysis.
• Create a plan to deliver annual our results against metrics of payment terms, on-time delivery, productivity, inflation, and other metrics as determined by Procurement Leadership.
• Research, track, and communicate industry trends, best practices, applicable indices, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage, and increased overall productivity
• Develop a productive working relationship with peers on other teams: Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Procurement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of procurement experience (preferably within industries with complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects, with a focus on procurement)
• 3+ years of experience in negotiations including Request For Information, Request For Proposal, Request For Quotation and contract development
• Experience with vendor management including purchase order issuance, execution, and administration
• Experience with Project ERP system (SAP or Ariba) or similar system in a global company.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $90,000 to $112,500 per year.
