Job summary

Power Solutions International (PSI) is seeking a Supply Chain Buyer to analyze material demand, issue and manage purchase orders, and ensure timely procurement while minimizing assets. This role balances strategic planning with hands-on execution to maintain optimal inventory levels and support business objectives.

You will monitor inventory, coordinate with suppliers and internal teams, and maintain purchasing data and ERP records, including Epicor ERP; there will be a focus on aligning PPV

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is required or equivalent experience.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to understand inventory levels, material requirements, lead times, and production schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing purchase orders, pricing, supplier information, and ERP data.
• Ability to work independently and make sound purchasing decisions within established policies.
• Epicor ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders to fulfill material requirements and support production schedules.
• Monitor inventory and material requirements to ensure appropriate supply levels and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Expedite orders and coordinate outside processing to improve material availability and minimize production disruptions.
• Analyze purchasing and material data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
• Balance pricing and inventory levels to minimize Purchase Price Variance (PPV) while optimizing cash flow.
• Communicate and collaborate with suppliers, Operations, Planning, and internal departments to ensure timely material availability.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data and KPIs, including ERP, PO, supplier, pricing, and delivery information, and monitor supplier performance.
• Partner with Accounts Payable and suppliers to resolve invoicing, pricing, and payment discrepancies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support supply chain operations.

Summary:

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent directly applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 2 plus years of purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to understand inventory levels, material requirements, lead times, and production schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing purchase orders, pricing, supplier information, and ERP data.
• Ability to work independently and make sound purchasing decisions within established policies and guidelines.
• Epicor ERP experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4 plusyears of purchasing or materials planning experience
• Experience with international suppliers and global logistics
